Workshop Goal To equip participants with concepts and tools needed to anticipate workforce demand and to develop the necessary supply of talent in advance of need.
Objectives Participants will be better able to:
- Estimate employee replacement needs by job series in collaboration with line management incorporating variables such as number of years until retirement eligibility, expected retirement rate, historical job attrition rate, changing the wingspan and/or skill level of the job, reengineering the work, etc.
- Explain and stimulate thinking concerning workforce trends and their implications, including changing workforce demographics to instill a sense of importance and urgency surrounding workforce and succession planning.
- Establish an occupation-specific plan and schedule for developing tomorrow's talent that draws on a mix of strategies and tactics, including but not limited to identifying high potential candidates for mentoring for upward mobility or cross-utilization, talent retention, training & development investment, talent poaching, mid-career hires, use of free agents and retirees, school-to-work transition, collaboration with other employers, and more.
